Behind every public controversy is often a figure whose influence escapes public scrutiny. In the case of Jamie Lee Murray, the spotlight is long overdue. Mother to the infamous Michigan agitator Kevin Lindke, wife of disgraced demolition daddy Steven Murray, and owner/operator of multiple failed companies, Jamie Murray’s life has been anything but quiet. Despite the efforts to bury her and her family’s crimes and misconducts, the wrongdoings are simply too extensive for Jamie to hide. This article unpacks the deep-rooted web of deceit, fraud, and endangerment that not only implicates Jamie Murray but positions her as a knowing and willing enabler at the heart of Michigan’s most malicious family.

Jamie’s Mental Decline

Jamie Murray’s well-documented mental health struggles can be traced to age 15, when she became pregnant with her son, Kevin Lindke. Kevin’s biological father, Keith Wesley Lindke,(1) was already known as a “heavy alcoholic”; a former schoolmate recalls him as “on the spectrum”(2) and painfully socially awkward. Community rumors have long suggested Jamie suffered sexual abuse during that relationship. Keith and Jamie married in May of 1980, less than 2 months after the birth of Kevin. Less than 5 months later Keith died in a car crash, and a 16-year-old Jamie was left to raise an infant entirely on her own, a responsibility she proved woefully inept to handle.

Within a short time Jamie quickly jumped into the lap of another drunken social reject, marrying Robert Stanley Lipa in August of 1985 and giving birth to a daughter, Megan (Lipa) Cary shortly after in 1986. That union, likewise scarred by abuse aimed at both Jamie Murray and very likely lil’ Kevin, disintegrated quickly, though for the sake of their two young children they tried to make it work far longer than they should have. Jamie and Robert Lipa separated in December 1993(3), leaving her alone with two deeply unsettled children. Her third partner was hardly a step up: She ultimately duped demolition industry embarrassment Steven Charles Murray into what insiders have called a “loveless marriage,” driven more by convenience and control than any genuine connection. True to the pattern, Steven combines heavy drinking with a volatile temper;(4) neighbors recount petty disputes exploding into slurred, expletive-laden tirades, a behavior Kevin himself would later mirror. Friends familiar with the household describe an atmosphere of constant violence that stunted both children’s emotional growth and left them ill-equipped for adult life. The way Kevin Lindke and Megan Cary act in public shows this sad truth. After enduring years of sexual, psychological, and physical abuse, was Jamie seemingly powerless to prevent that trauma from cascading down to the next generation?

Bad Faith Bankruptcy

In 2011, after defaulting on multiple high-limit credit cards(5) and losing multiple high-value assets and properties to foreclosure(6)(7) Jamie and Steven Murray filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy to erase more than $273,000 in debt, including debt from Macy’s, Target, and US Bank.(8)(9) The filing listed only $17,000 in assets.(10) This absurd discrepancy, coupled with the family’s post-bankruptcy displays of wealth, strongly suggests asset concealment and intentional misuse of the bankruptcy process. Soon after the Murrays wrapped up their bankruptcy, they poured money into major upgrades on their home,(11)(12)(13)(14) suddenly inflating the family’s supposedly “non-existent” wealth. The attorney who pulled off this financial disappearing act was David Heyboer: he had first appeared a year earlier, defending the Murrays in a $14,765 Citizens Bank lawsuit that ended in a default judgment, and then shepherded their record sized bankruptcy through court with zero pushback from the trustee. The irony is brutal: The very lawyer who rescued the family from a mountain of debt is the same “slimeball” Kevin Lindke later trashed online,(15)(16) using his mother Jamie Murray’s Facebook account no less.

The World’s Worst Mom and Son Duo

Kevin Lindke’s rap sheet spans over 10,220 long days,(17) first turning outright felonious in 2003 when, drunk and belligerent, he brandished a pink lawn ornament at responding officers, swung at the deputy, and after a brief pursuit hurled a brick at the patrol car in what prosecutors tagged an attempted murder.(18) Kevin Lindke received convictions for felonious assault and assaulting an officer that the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed two years later.(19) Instead of resetting his life, Lindke doubled down. As his custody fight with former partner Ami Moeller turned toxic, Kevin amassed a growing pile of Personal Protection Orders, now numbering at least twenty-five, each issued for acts of intimidation, violence, or harassment. Since 2019, St. Clair County judges have jailed Kevin at least eight separate times, culminating in a 40-day sentence after a courthouse fist-fight spilled into the street. Even Lindke’s free-speech crusade at the U.S. Supreme Court sprang from those same PPO skirmishes; He claims the orders muzzle him, while the courts keep reminding him they exist only because his harassment will not stop. From each arraignment to every baseless lawsuit and manufactured smear campaign, one figure has stood unflinchingly at the center: Jamie Murray. Outside the courthouse doors, livestreaming protest chants, covering bonds through fraudulent fundraisers, publicly taunting the victims of Kevin’s behavior, and assuring the public that her son was the real victim. Her presence transformed each hearing into a rally and made clear that the family’s matriarch was not just an observer but the logistical engine keeping Kevin’s legal crusade fueled each time the law rightfully silenced him. Despite dozens of hours of video content, Jamie Murray has never once publicly taken accountability or issued a statement separating her identity from that of Kevin Lindke. Her refusal to take responsibility is not just negligent, it’s pathetic, weak, and cowardly. She has allowed her likeness, voice, and social media presence to be used for attacks, threats, and legal manipulation by her abusive and mentally ill son.

Locals insist violence within the family predates the court filings. A watchdog site chronicling “25 years of abuse” alleges that in 1997 a teenage Kevin Lindke struck his own mother, Jamie Murray, during a drunken rage,(20) an incident recorded in municipal logs as a domestic violence arrest. Former girlfriends have filed statements accusing him of choking them in front of their children, spitting on them, and leaving bruises on them and their children that “no makeup could hide.”(21) Even more disturbing are the long circulating allegations that Kevin Lindke sexually assaulted two younger male cousins during his early teenage years. Though no formal charges were ever filed, these accounts have resurfaced with growing frequency on forums and message boards. The most unsettling claim? That the victims’ silence was secured through coercion, specifically, with promises of being written into Jamie Murray’s will. Yet even these accusations meet not with denunciation but with Jamie’s public pleas for sympathy and cash. It’s strikingly ironic that Jamie loudly condemns child predators, yet she not only raised one but also sheltered him when he was on the run. By rebroadcasting his rants through their “Through My Eyes” cult page and treating each protective order as evidence of a vast conspiracy, she collapses any daylight between maternal loyalty and active complicity, binding Kevin’s violent legacy to her own public persona. Yes, Kevin Lindke has at least one documented incident of physically assaulting Jamie Murray, and considering his record it’s not hard to imagine unreported emotional or even sexual abuse inside the household. But at what point does unwavering family loyalty by Jamie Murray slide into behavior so amoral it itself borders on criminal?

Jamie Murray’s role in her son’s ongoing harassment campaigns has become undeniable. Whether through her silence or overt support, she has repeatedly shielded Kevin Lindke, a convicted felon, woman-beater, and known cyber-abuser, from accountability. Despite Facebook’s explicit ban on shared accounts, Jamie allowed Kevin Lindke to use her Facebook profile under the alias Jamie Lindke.(22) Throughout Kevin’s jail stints, Jamie dutifully copied his messages word for word onto both her personal Facebook profile and the cult-like forum, “Through My Eyes” that she co-administrates. Posts made under this name targeted judges, court officials, community members, critics, victims of sexual abuse, members of the LGBTQ+ community, members of the community with special needs, and even daycare providers, with fabricated allegations. Many of these posts were defamatory in nature, often accusing people of pedophilia or conspiracy to commit child sex crimes without any evidence. Kevin’s repeated use of his mother’s profile was not a secret, it was the platform from which he launched his digital tirades. By permitting and enabling this behavior, Jamie Lee Murray publicly crossed the line from a concerned parent into active complicity.

Jamie’s History of Defamation

In April 2021 the Cronin Law Firm delivered a two-page cease-and-desist letter, addressed simultaneously to Kevin Lindke (then in the St. Clair County Jail) and Jamie Murray at her East China home.(23)(24) The letter, sent on behalf of successful local entrepreneur, author, and community activist Kelly Lozano and her husband Steven Hurlburt, cataloged a litany of posts in Jamie’s Through My Eyes cult that branded Hurlburt a “pedophile,” urged a protest to “cost them a day at work,” and spawned direct harassment from followers. Counsel accused Jamie Murray and her felonious son Kevin Lindke of “tortious, malicious defamation,” detailed the concrete financial hit to Lozano’s brands Girl On Fire and Grand Trunk Marketplace, and warned that their conduct violated “numerous Michigan and Federal laws.” The demand: within seven days publish a full retraction, apologize on the group page, scrub every defamatory post, halt any future contact with Lozano’s vendors, and cease all “smear-campaign” rhetoric, or face immediate civil action and damages.

Jamie complied, though not before milking the spectacle for engagement. In May 2021 she posted a formal “apology” on her personal timeline, admitting the group had “falsely reported” and “painted (Lozano and Hurlburt) in a false light.”(25) The statement conceded that Hurlburt had never been convicted of pedophilia, had no role in Lozano’s women-empowerment symposium, and did not own or work for Grand Trunk Marketplace. Jamie further instructed followers to delete any repeat of the allegations and vowed to take down every related post, an unambiguous confession that the original claims were invented to sustain the cult’s narrative. Only the credible threat of litigation forced Murray to reverse course, underscoring a pattern: the Lindke family pushes defamatory fabrications until a lawyer’s letter lands, then retreats just far enough to dodge the courthouse while the reputational damage to their target remains. The truce was short-lived; Kevin Lindke soon resumed peddling baseless claims of sexual misconduct against Kelly and her family, relentlessly bolstering his narrative while wiping away any sign of his own cult’s craven complicity.(26)

Murray’s contempt for the courts is not theoretical. When WXYZ Detroit covered Kevin Lindke’s 2019 jailing for violating a Personal Protection Order, Jamie scoffed on camera, “Who gets to tell somebody what they can and can’t talk about? And then if they don’t like it, they will put you in jail?”(27) The smirk said the quiet part aloud: court orders are mere suggestions for a family that believes it is untouchable.

An Attempt to Hijack the Government

Jamie’s 2022 run for Representative of Michigan’s 63rd District ended exactly the way every scheme built on deception does: humiliating defeat. Jamie Murray struggled to limp across the Democratic primary finish line with just 27.7 percent of the vote,(29) proof that voters could smell the opportunism and bullshit through the glossy yard signs. According to local sources, it was Kevin Lindke who filled out and submitted her candidacy paperwork,(28) possibly without her being in the state at the time. When questioned about her political alignment, Jamie Murray’s Facebook page posted that she was “running as a Democrat to avoid a crowded primary battle.”(29) There have been zero public statements made by Jamie herself outlining any policy goals, community plans, or platforms. The entire campaign page was less a platform than a megaphone for Kevin’s custody vendetta, plastered with the hashtag #dadsdontquit and live streamed tirades about “corrupt judges.” It was a political stunt designed to launder a family grievance into public legitimacy. Jamie’s refusal to separate her identity from her son’s digital harassment campaigns demonstrates a flagrant disregard for the truth and public trust. This points to a disturbing possibility: that Jamie Murray’s candidacy was never about public service, but about further enabling her deviant son by providing him with political cover and a new venue for harassment.

The Devil’s Secretary

Beyond her political and personal conduct, Jamie Murray plays a major role in one of the most scandal ridden demolition companies in American history: SCM Engineered Demolition, re-branded from Reliable Demolition and currently re-branding as Conventional Demolition Specialists(30) and Murray Demolition Services.(68) In 2019, an explosive demolition handled by SCM in Weirton, West Virginia, blanketed a residential neighborhood in toxic debris. Hundreds of residents were exposed to carcinogenic materials.(31) A class action lawsuit is currently underway. In December 2020, a catastrophic collapse at the Killen Generating Station led to the deaths of two workers and left one man, Travis Miller, permanently disabled. Miller lost both legs and suffered severe spinal injuries.(32) Kevin Lindke mocked Miller’s injuries on Facebook, referring to him as a “goofy ass,”(33) while Jamie Murray herself said nothing. As lawsuits mounted, Jamie and Steven Murray transferred company control to Jamie, a move widely seen as an attempt to evade liability. Changing logos and letterheads cannot hide the fact that every invoice, every hazardous waste manifest, and every six figure lawsuit traces back to the same living room.

Additionally, Kevin Lindke, illegally operating as a project supervisor despite being a felon prohibited from handling explosives, oversaw a failed implosion at the Pontiac Silverdome. Again, no apology. No accountability. Just lies. Kevin Lindke proudly declared the project a “success” to several news outlets, a statement that aged poorly when the botched demolition failed to bring down the building, forcing a second, costly attempt and turning his premature victory lap into a public embarrassment.(34)

The Rich Steal From the Poor

The money pipeline is just as shameless. A GoFundMe titled “#dadsdontquit” organized in Kevin’s name but routing donations directly to Jamie openly solicited a $20,000 war chest to sue a St. Clair County judge in federal court.(35) The pitch bragged of “hundreds of thousands” already poured into Kevin Lindke’s litigation. In the campaign description, she stated funds would be used solely for court fees. However, subsequent Facebook posts revealed that the funds were later used to help pay Kevin Lindke’s bond in an unrelated criminal case,(36) an act that constitutes GoFundMe fraud and potentially a violation of Michigan’s fraud statutes. Jamie’s role in hosting, managing, and promoting this fundraiser makes her legally and morally complicit in the misappropriation of public donations. That campaign did not stand alone. Within weeks Jamie’s daughter Megan Cary launched a near identical fundraiser using copy and paste rhetoric about “corrupt judges draining our family,” requesting an additional $4,000.(37) The two drives ran in tandem, cross promoted inside the *Through My Eyes* Facebook group, and ultimately collected more than $12,000 from sympathetic strangers. Donors were never told that the target judge enjoyed absolute immunity, a fact that render the promised lawsuit effectively impossible. Critics argue the dueling fundraisers look less like grassroots justice and more like a coordinated cash grab, siphoning community goodwill to bankroll a private family vendetta.

Headquarters of Hell

Drive past the immaculate lakefront residence at 3445 St. Clair Shores Blvd. in East China and you’re looking at the real headquarters of danger and misinformation.(38) FMCSA carrier filings for SCM Engineered Demolition,(39) and its latest aliases, Conventional Demolition Specialists(40) and Murray Demolition Services(68) list the same address that property sites confirm was custom remodeled in 2006. It doubles as Kevin’s preferred bolt hole when bench warrants are issued, turning his mother Jamie Murray’s waterfront home into a perpetual safe harbor for fugitives and failing businesses alike.(41) Neighbors of the Murray family agreed to speak only under strict anonymity agreements, citing a very real fear of retaliation. Their accounts reveal the most disturbing portrait of Jamie Murray and her household yet. Years of police visits have earned the Murray residence the grim nickname “central dispatch” among locals. Steven Murray ruled his property like a dictator, and tried to do the same to his neighbors, frequently escalating trivial disputes into outright physical confrontations. On at least two occasions, those confrontations spiraled into death threats against elderly residents. Several neighbors reported concerns about plummeting property values, attributing them to the family’s hostile, high-profile presence. Even darker, multiple community members described sexual abuse committed by Kevin Lindke during his teenage years. According to claims, Kevin molested two younger male cousins over a period of several months, a crime allegedly covered up by Jamie and Steven Murray. Rather than report their son, the Murrays quietly sent Kevin to Arizona, a failed exile that ended with a felony fraud charge and a swift return to his mother’s protection. The Murray residence is strategically located near many of the individuals they regularly defame, serving as a convenient launchpad for their public smear campaigns and disinformation-fueled protests.

Hypocritical Dictatorial Behavior

If locals voice concern online, Jamie Murray and her gang of goofy goobers simply delete the records. As administrator of several Port Huron area Facebook cult-like harassment groups, she wields the ban hammer with giddy precision, scrubbing critical comments towards the family and their tirade of abuse, while amplifying the family’s own propaganda. The digital gatekeeping is the final proof: Jamie Murray has not been reluctantly dragged into Kevin Lindke’s chaos, she is supporting and stage managing it.

Jamie Murray once posted a video to Facebook that featured a one-second frame of a naked child. This was an image of her daughter Megan’s daughter Tessa. Although not legally classified as child pornography, the clip was publicly posted and uncensored. For someone so publicly vocal about pedophilia, this reckless act placed her family, and that child, in danger of exploitation. Jamie made the video private shortly after this detail was originally uncovered in 2022.

The Stay-at-Home Felons

Jamie Murray’s inner circle includes three key figures, two of which are deeply connected to convicted child sex offenders: Brenda Russell, who appears in over 20 hours of joint livestreams with Jamie, was married to Darwin Russell, a convicted sex offender. Crystal Marie (Ayotte), a disgraced past administrator of Kevin’s Facebook cult, is engaged to Favio Provost, another monstrous convicted child molester. Chris(tine) Woodley, a felon convicted of stealing more than $15,000 from a previous employer and refusing to pay it back, has failed to pay rent more than 3 dozen times. Despite this, Jamie Murray has actively hosted and collaborated with all three women in her anti-pedophile advocacy group. The hypocrisy is staggering and points to a family riddled with untreated mental illness. Just as Jamie Murray’s son Kevin forfeited parental rights, both Brenda Russell’s and Christine Woodley’s sons have also lost custody of their daughters after allegations of physical and/or sexual abuse.

Brenda and Darwin Russell

Brenda Kay Russell was married to Darwin Thomas Russell for over 25 years. Darwin did far more than merely “stray.” In 2003 he was charged with fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct,(43) an offense that in Michigan covers sexual contact obtained by force, coercion, or exploitation of a position of authority. Russell plead not guilty, moved to dismiss the case as “unconstitutional” (sound familiar?), demanded a jury (sound familiar), and lost on every count. Court minutes show the judge citing “multiple variables,” language typically reserved for repeated or aggravated incidents. His retained lawyer quit immediately after sentencing; a court-appointed attorney took the doomed appeal, which was summarily denied, cementing Russell’s status as a convicted sex offender. In the two decades since, he and his now-deceased wife racked up dozens of misdemeanors, unpaid judgments, and thousands in defaulted debts. Darwin Russell still maintains an active Facebook profile, openly flaunting the platform’s explicit ban on convicted sex offenders.(44) Far from remorseful, Darwin now uses that account to silently cheer on Jamie Murray’s livestream rants and lurk inside “Through My Eyes,” the online cult that markets itself as a crusade against child abuse.

Brenda Russell was fully aware of the man she married. Obituaries and court documents confirm that at least three young stepchildren and a rotating cast of foster placements were living in her home(45) at the time Darwin was convicted of sexually assaulting his niece. Rather than expressing outrage, Brenda permitted her husband to abuse her own sister’s daughter, while her young granddaughter was present in the same room. She concealed her husband’s crimes while continuing to bring vulnerable foster children into the home, effectively enabling his predatory behavior. This sexual abuse he later tried, and failed, to erase in court. Rather than shield those minors, Brenda spent her final years broadcasting joint Facebook livestreams with Jamie Murray. Over twenty hours recorded where she spun lurid tales of other parents’ alleged neglect while scrupulously omitting her own husband’s conviction. Former members of the group whisper that anyone who hinted at sexual misconduct inside the Through My Eyes cult was shouted down or muted, and that at least one teenage relative of the Russell’s “went silent” after disclosing inappropriate touching. Whether those allegations ever reach a courtroom remains uncertain, but the moral math is already clear: Brenda weaponized fabricated abuse stories to destroy outsiders’ reputations while knowingly harboring and publicly defending a man adjudicated for preying on children living under her care. Sadly, at least one child from that household appears to have suffered lasting psychological damage. Shortly after this article’s publication, daughter Heather Szyska contacted the author in a barrage of hostile, unhinged messages, eerily echoing the same juvenile aggression and toxic behavior long associated with Kevin Lindke and the rest of his gutter-dwelling entourage.

Crystal Ayotte and Favio Provost

Crystal Marie Ayotte(46) was another background cheerleader for Jamie Murray’s online crusades. As another co-administrator of “Through My Eyes,”(47) Crystal funneled Kevin Lindke’s jail-house manifestos straight onto the group feed. After finalizing her 2015 divorce from domestic violence offender Nathan Ayotte,(48) Crystal wasted no time opening her arms and legs to convicted child molester Favio Provost.(49) Favio plead guilty in 2002 to second-degree criminal sexual conduct against a minor under Michigan’s CSC statute,(50) escaping a third-degree charge only by making a deal with prosecutors. Probation did nothing to curb him; two years later he re-offended by flouting the sex offender registry, racking up a fresh guilty plea and a stretch of county jail time. By 2004 the court finally revoked his probation and shipped him to state prison for a two-to-five-year term; A span he began with 393 days of credit, proof of the months he had already squandered behind bars on violations alone.(51)

Once paroled, Provost made a career of ducking the registry. He took new convictions for non-compliance in 2009 and 2013 (the latter earning a six-month jail sentence), then walked into 2020 with yet another felony charge which was only narrowly dismissed when prosecutors abandoned the case mid-pandemic. Despite the lifetime ban Facebook imposes on convicted child-sex offenders, Favio Provost also still operates a public profile,(52) freely interacting with Jamie Murray’s circle while Crystal Ayotte, a paralegal at the Novosel Law Firm, leverages courthouse access to procure documents that bolster the family’s conspiracy tales. Her quiet exit from group leadership after the 2022 exposé feels less like repentance and more like strategic retreat: whispers linger that she continues to feed Jamie Murray and the Lindke family sealed filings behind the scenes. The result is a grotesque mirror image of Jamie Murray’s self-styled “anti-pedophile” brand, an echo chamber where the loudest voices against abuse are, in fact, amplifying the very predators they claim to fight.

Chris Woodley

Like Jamie Murray, Christine Renee Woodley has a son that has lost custody of a daughter. Do you see a trend forming? Christine’s paper-trail reads like a master class in financial betrayal. In December 1997, while handling the books for Chateau Construction, she siphoned off more than $15,000 (equivalent to more than $30,000 today), a felony embezzlement that saw her plead guilty in Macomb Circuit Court (Case No. 1998-000500-FH).(53) Judge Deborah Servitto spared her prison but imposed five years’ probation, 100 hours of community service, tight alcohol and drug bans, and a restitution order for over $10,000 she stole. After sentencing, Christine Woodley repaid none of it. By January 1999 the court filed a “report of non-payment,” issued a bench warrant, and jailed her for 120 days. Over the next four years she triggered three more probation violation dockets, each time released only after promising to resume payments she still never made. Address records show her ricocheting from Utica to Belleville to Sterling Heights, a hopscotch pattern that mirrors every missed restitution installment and suggests deliberate flight from creditors. Even when finally discharged from supervision in 2003, the ledger noted outstanding costs. Further offering proof of Christine’s malicious behavior, just two years after her felony embezzlement conviction she landed herself back in jail, this time for uttering and publishing, a felony in Michigan involving the use of forged or counterfeit documents to defraud.(54) It’s a crime rooted in deceit: knowingly presenting a fake document as real to manipulate the system, something Woodley seems disturbingly comfortable doing.

Civil records echo the same contempt for obligations: small-claims collectors have attempted to collect tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid debt over the years. Many of the debts Christine “Chris” Woodley defaulted on are still being collected through wage garnishments, though that offers little hope to her creditors, since she hasn’t held a legitimate job since the mid-1990s and has instead leeched off taxpayer-funded support. Since the early 2000s, she’s been hit with at least five evictions and sued over 20 times for unpaid rent.(55) Add it up and you get a portrait of someone who treats other people’s money as a private slush fund, repaying only when the threat of jail outweighs the temptation to keep stealing. Inside Jamie Murray’s orbit, Christine Woodley’s record of deceit fits the law-skirting pattern already set by Brenda Russell and Crystal Ayotte. Murray and her support group of stay-at-home felons grab the cash first and only contemplate the fallout, if at all, after the fact.

Kelly Skarbek and her son Jacob

Another figure orbiting Jamie Murray worth mentioning is Kelly Skarbek. The mother of Jake Skarbek(56) (Jamie’s Republican rival in the 2022 race for Michigan’s 63rd House District) Kelly works as a paralegal at Butzel Long Law Firm. Jake fared no better than Jamie, losing by a similarly lopsided and embarrassing margin even after utilizing the support of Kevin’s online cult. However, while her son wisely distanced himself from the Murray circus after their public downfall, Kelly chose to stay entangled in the chaos, remaining firmly attached to the dysfunction long after the dust had settled. Kelly surfaces as a witness in several of Jamie’s family’s frivolous lawsuits(57) and has been caught funneling case intel to Kevin Lindke(58) through his online following. Like countless other blind followers of Jamie Murray’s madness, Kelly has been unable to effectively manage her finances, resulting in a foreclosure in early 2013.(59) Kelly may be the lone member of Jamie’s inner circle without a felony record, but her role raises its own red flags, particularly given Lindke’s public boasts about exploiting “inside” paralegals to fuel his harassment campaigns.

Jamie AND LISA: Queens of Courtroom Corruption

The Murray family has turned courtroom games into an art form. They stall hearings, demand secret settlements, and spin every outcome to fit their story. Whether through Kevin’s harassment, Steven’s negligent demolitions, or Jamie’s enabling, this family has endangered public safety at every level, from environmental damage to psychological warfare. They pose as watchdogs, but act like agitators. One attorney who appears again and again in Jamie’s lawsuits is Lisa Stern of Hertz Schram.(60) Lisa isn’t just a partner, she’s a shareholder, entitling her to a cut of the company’s overall profits. Reports claim Stern exploits Michigan’s non-existent anti-SLAPP laws, unethically stretching cases until defendants cave in and settle behind closed doors, racking up billable hours and letting Kevin Lindke trumpet his own version of events to his followers. Lisa Stern has a history of fabricating evidence and stories, once claiming that her client had cancer, warning the opposing side that prolonged medical delays would tie up the case for years unless they settled immediately.(61) Working at Hertz Schram, Lisa has been on every side of the fight, sometimes representing Kevin Lindke, Jamie Murray or their various family members,(62) other times arguing against them. Opponents contend Stern’s tactics serve her paying clients, not the public interest, and turn legal proceedings into a weapon. As Jamie Murray (or her son Kevin Lindke?) eyes another possible run for public office, the question becomes: Is this the leadership Michigan needs? If history is any guide, a vote for Jamie Murray is a vote for fraud, fear, and the continued abuse of community trust.

Client reviews paint an even darker picture of Lisa Stern’s legal ethics, or lack thereof. Multiple former clients accuse her of prioritizing profit over people, charging thousands for representation that was, at best, incompetent and, at worst, outright negligent. In one case, Stern promised to personally appear at a critical custody hearing, only to cancel the day before and send an unprepared associate in her place. That associate missed the initial hearing, failed to present key arguments, and left the client blindsided in court.(63) When the client complained, Stern doubled down, charging another $2,000 to file a failed motion for reconsideration and then refusing to remove herself as attorney of record without more money. In another disturbing account, Stern allegedly took $7,500 from a mother fighting for custody, only to abandon her at the settlement hearing after learning the client couldn’t afford an additional $10,000 to proceed to trial, despite having promised repeatedly that all critical issues would be addressed during that phase.(64) The mother was left alone in court, while Stern settled behind her back. These aren’t isolated incidents, they reflect a disturbing pattern of manipulation, financial exploitation, and legal abandonment. Lisa Stern’s willingness to mislead, overcharge, and walk away the moment the money runs out aligns perfectly with the Murray family’s own playbook of grift and deception. In the courtroom or out, Lisa Stern appears far more interested in draining wallets than delivering justice. Lisa Stern doesn’t resemble a lawyer so much as a legal hustler, packaging vulnerable families’ pain into profit, bleeding clients dry with false promises, and disappearing the moment the money runs out. Her practice isn’t built on justice; it’s built on exploitation, with all the ethics of a street-level grifter in a tailored suit.

The horror stories don’t end there. One client detailed how Stern’s firm flat out misled both them and co-counsel in Chicago, falsely claiming there was no court date, only for the client to later discover they had missed the hearing entirely and been “slaughtered” in absentia. When confronted, Stern shifted blame to the Chicago firm, despite having directed the entire strategy and negotiations herself. In an astonishing twist, she even requested that a separate attorney draft a letter threatening to sue her own firm, just to dodge responsibility for the fallout and potentially waive the fees her client still “owed.”(65) Another review accuses Stern’s firm of pulling a classic bait-and-switch: luring in desperate clients with a free consultation, only to offload the case to a junior associate who made a single phone call, sent a form letter, and then billed over $2,000, padding the bill with charges for the “free” consult. When the client pushed back, they were stonewalled by the billing department and threatened with collections.(66) One woman, a broke stay-at-home mom navigating her first divorce, says hiring Lisa Stern was “one of the biggest mistakes of her life.” After being shuffled between three different attorneys she never asked for, she walked away and hired someone else, only to be slapped with a $12,000 lawsuit from Hertz Schram, on top of the $15,000 she had already paid. Her final divorce was handled by another lawyer, quickly and professionally, for less than $5,000, underscoring just how predatory Lisa Stern’s billing practices truly are.(67) Across review after review, a clear portrait emerges: Lisa Stern preys on the vulnerable, buries clients and defendants in paperwork, leverages fear to force settlements, and views families in crisis not as people, but as paydays. Her behavior doesn’t just mirror the Murray family’s moral rot, it fuels it, legitimizes it, and profits from it.

Conclusion

Jamie Murray is not a misguided parent or a bystander to her family’s destruction, she is the architect. At the center of a web of harassment, fraud, and manipulation, her influence has carved deep scars into Michigan communities. Whether through silence or direct action, Jamie’s fingerprints are on every scandal, every abuse, every cover-up. As her family claws for legitimacy, the truth must act as a firewall against their continued harm. Jamie Murray is unfit for public office, unfit to be near children, and unfit to wield power of any kind. She is not a hero, she is a calculated deceiver cloaked in victimhood. Surrounding herself with equally corrupt allies in courtrooms and council halls, Jamie has cultivated a protective ring of enablers who shield her from consequences and weaponize the law against the public. Her story isn’t one of resilience, it’s a warning.
